Policy & Terms of Pre-Registration Applications

GENERAL TERMS:
Anyone may apply to pre-register an XTNS multilingual domain namespace. However, the 30-day pre-registration period (9/24/01 - 10/24/01) is the only period that XTNS will give priority of registration rights to owners of intellectual property rights in a given name. In applying for a name you understand that XTNS will give priority to applicants who submit evidence of such ownership. XTNS will otherwise give priority on a first come first served basis.

PERMITTED MULTILINGUAL NAMES:
XTNS reserves the right to deny an application on the basis that it determines any given character or word is not available for registration, or has become unavailable, or XTNS in its sole discretion has decided to disallow any given character or name.

APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION FEES:
There is a non-refundable application fee of $5 per name. XTNS will not be responsible for errors by customers such as repeat submission of the same name: the $5 application fee will be applied in all cases. During the pre-registration period all successful registrations will also be charged a registration license fee of $90 for the first three years. The three year period will commence from when the name in question is activated.

ACCURACY OF INFORMATION SUPPLIED:
You agree to supply accurate information about the language the name you are applying for is in, what the name means, and your claim as to ownership rights in the name (if any). XTNS reserves the right to reject an application if any of the information you supply is inaccurate, and also reserves the right to reverse a registration once made if it is later determined registration was based on inaccurate information in your application.

OBLIGATION TO SET CORRECT ENCODING MODE:
You agree to ensure that at the time of filling out an application form on our web site the encoding method your browser is set to is "UTF-8". Failure to ensure this may result in your not applying to register the multilingual name you intended to and may result in registration of a different name or set of characters. Internet Explorer users should click VIEW | ENCODING | UNICODE (UTF-8). Netscape users should click VIEW | CHARACTER SET | UNICODE (UTF-8).

FURTHER TERMS:
In addition to the above terms, all applicable terms that do not conflict with the above found in our Registration Agreement, our Terms of Use, and our Privacy Policy are also incorporated herein. You should thus read each of these other documents before indicating your acceptance of the terms for filing an application within the pre-registration period.
