Multilingual Name Sales Languages covered Working Samples: (Chinese Simplified) 公司.繁體中文 (Chinese Traditional) 会社.日本語 (Japanese) 회사.한국어 (Korean) עברית.קום (Hebrew) العربية.شركة (Arabic) FAQs What are multilingual domains? Who would use them? What languages are supported? How much do they cost? How do I enter non-English characters? Can I re-sell these names? Do I need to know a language to register a name in it? How does this differ from Verisign's Multilingual Domain Name Testbed? |
![]() ![]() Click here to see a list of the tens of scripts and alphabets which our system supports, and a sampling of several hundreds of languages you will be able to register names in. Because the XTNS system resolves these new names from the Microsoft IE browser, these names will work everywhere worldwide that IE (version 5.0 and above) is in use. That is more than 360,000,000 users according to recent statistics. Moreover, because this name resolution functionality is custom coded into the Microsoft/XTNS system, resolution of these new names is fast and reliable. Indeed, it is the same system, powered by RealNames technology, that is being used by Verisign/NSI to resolve their Internationalized Domain Names ("ml.com", "ml.net" & "ml.org"). PHASE ONE In the first phase (just started, September 24, 2001) XTNS has launched a new Multilingual Domain for pre-registration in Japanese, Chinese (GB & Big 5), Korean, Hebrew & Arabic. In this first phase (30 days) pre-registration applications will be accepted from individuals and corporations who believe they have a specific claim on a particular name. Full details of this pre-registration application process can be found here. PHASE TWO In phase two XTNS will open registrations of names in this new domain for this first group of languages, and the XTNS STORE will commence selling names on a first come first served basis.
